Greetings friends! We are thrilled to share with you some of the exciting, creative work that has been going on at the Alliance.
You will notice the Alliance has a new logo! The Alliance identity discernment group worked during 2016 and discerned three core values of the Alliance: theological home, pursuit of God's justice and partnership in mission. These three are displayed beautifully in our logo. The flame symbolizes our commitment to the pursuit of justice, a wave at the bottom calling us to remember our theological home in the waters of baptism and the way the three parts work together, symbolizing partnership in mission as understood through our Trinitarian faith. As the identity group listened, they also discovered the Road to Emmaus passage in Luke was one people consistently felt described the Alliance of Baptists. As we walk together, following the resurrected Jesus, our hearts are warmed, we listen, we discuss and then we run to proclaim the good news! That Spirit-filled encounter and our most recent Annual Gathering in Raleigh, led us to the image of a flame in three parts.
In addition to our new logo, we have also launched a new virtual home at allianceofbaptists.org! We hope you'll take a look around and find that all you need is still there. Ministry opportunities are clearly listed. Partner congregations can be found with ease. AllianceConnect resources and bookstore no longer require a log-in and sharing is simple.
This is an exciting day for the Alliance! We look with hope to the future to which God is calling us to offer a theological home, pursue justice and continue our work of partnership in mission.
