Disability Theology: Combating the Cult of Normalcy

Thursday, March 21

In this workshop led by Rev. Dr. Milton Keys, we will examine the intersection of racism and ableism.  We will explore how perceptions of wholeness and healthiness have fueled discriminatory practices as well as how disability theologians offer an alternative to this narrative. Rev. Dr. Keys is a preacher, teacher, and producer.  As a disability theologian and advocate Keys seeks to build the beloved community by helping churches become welcoming and accessible to people with disabilities.
