Baptist Church of the Covenant, Birmingham, Alabama, seeks a full-time or part-time organist-choirmaster, or part-time persons for organist and choral director to begin no later than May 2008. This is one of four ministerial staff positions. Areas of responsibility include worship planning and leadership, music education and administration.
The church observes the liturgical calendar, and worship is high-church style, with robust congregational singing. The choir consists of 25-35 volunteer singers with an extensive classical repertoire. Currently, the church has a 5 rank Reuter pipe organ.
